Making Chili for Work Tomorrow

The weathermen were predicting rain for yesterday and sure enough we got an inch last night.  So I am glad I listened and put some wood in my wood bins.

Starting to set up.

Heating the pots for keeping things clean.  A Clean Kitchen is a Healthy Kitchen and a Healthy Kitchen is a Happy Kitchen.  Anyway, one has soap and water and of course the other for rinsing.   

 Water is hot. 

 Time to build a good hot coal base. 

Well finally got the meat cut up.

 Looking like Chili, now to cook the rest of the afternoon/evening.  Since this is for eating and not judging per say, I am only using one Serrano and one Jalapeno, if I need to add more later I will, but we got a lot of folks to feed so if too hot they will not eat all that much.  I hope to make it right on the boarder between two and three alarm.   It is now 3PM, started set up at 10AM, and now it will cook for about 5 hours, followed by the crock pot tomorrow for transport to the office. 

Muenster Octoberfest 2013

We had a great day today driving up to Muenster Tx which is just south of the OK border. 

Of course in this day and age you cannot make any kind of trip without construction. 

Went past TMS, Texas Motor Speedway.  We have a race coming in November.

This was on the right hand side of van, I was sitting on the left and I just pushed my arm out straight to see what I could get and it came out ok.  

Philip was driving and decided to take some back roads and we came across this little town.  You will see more when I show the return trip.  

Well we make Muenster but cannot find the Octoberfest so we decide to stop at this little store front winery to ask directions.  So while here I took some shots.  This is a little beer/wine garden per say.

Well while at the nursery I found a small band of wild turkeys behind the store front.  They did not care much for me once I was discovered but I was able to sneak up enough to shoot these with zoom on. 

I decided to go inside and take a few shots of the little winery. 

We finally found the Oktoberfest.  They had a old VW car show. There were some old ones, now keep in mind we are in the back woods of TX per say.

On the way to the fest I noticed a couple of things I wanted to take shots of.  So Philip took us back the same way down the country road so I could get my shots.

This old rail trestle I found interesting. 

We decided to stop in the town that had that little antique store I mentioned earlier.  The town is called Valley View. 

Now this is a wood cooker, but I like mine better to be honest.
